North Potomac Yard Phase 1 Development Community Open House (Option 2)

The Virginia Tech Foundation and JBG SMITH will host two community meetings to provide initial information on the height, mass, scale and architectural character of the buildings in Phase 1 Development of North Potomac Yard. Representatives from the applicant’s architectural and project teams will be in attendance to answer questions from the community.

  • Wednesday, March 18, 7-9 p.m., Ferdinand T. Day Elementary School Multipurpose Room, 1701 N. Beauregard Street. Parking is available in the adjacent garage.

The Virginia Tech Foundation and JBG SMITH will submit applications to the City in March of 2020 for a CDD Concept Plan Amendment and a Preliminary Infrastructure Site Plan to incorporate the Virginia Tech Innovation Campus into the first phase of development within North Potomac Yard. The requested amendments are intended to implement the vision for North Potomac Yard as a mixed-use urban community around the new Potomac Yard Metrorail station. The concept plan and information about the North Potomac Yard Small Area Plan are available at alexandriava.gov/Planning.

The Planning Commission and City Council will hold public hearings on the North Potomac Yard applications on June 2 and June 20, respectively.
