ALEXANDRIA, VA—The American Physical Therapy Association’s proposal to move its headquarters from Old Town Alexandria to a new building in Potomac Yard is making progress. A public meeting on the detailed plans is set for Wednesday, Jan. 24.
The association has released plans on constructing a new office building at 3030 Potomac Avenue next to the Target at the Potomac Yard shopping center. The seven-story, 117,000-square-foot building will be next to the National Industries for the Blind building, which is now under construction and near the future Potomac Yard Metro Station.
The 108-foot-tall building will have a main entrance on Potomac Avenue and include three levels of lower level parking, an upper level terrace, fitness center, plaza and more.
The APTA, a professional membership organization for physical therapists, is currently located in Old Town Alexandria at 1111 N Fairfax Street. According to the Washington Business Journal, the organization anticipates moving to the new location in 2021.
